TSB In St. George, Utah: Twenty-Year-Old Juan Carlos Jimenez Arrested For Raping An 86-Year-Old Woman; Out On $25,000 Bail

If you had any lingering doubts about rape being a crime of power and anger rather than lust, this story will vanquish those doubts altogether. The St. George Spectrum reports on March 12th, 2008, that a 20-year-old Hispanic man was arrested Monday March 10th and charged with raping an 86-year-old woman. Story also picked up by the Deseret Morning News and the Salt Lake Tribune. Also aired by KSL Channel 5.

Juan Carlos Jimenez appeared on Tuesday March 11th in St. George's 5th District Court, where he was formally charged with aggravated sexual assault and forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies; and witness tampering, a third-degree felony. He hired his own attorney, and a judge reduced his bail from $50,000 to $25,000. Jimenez posted bail and was released.

St. George Police Capt. Barry Golding said the incident allegedly occurred 11 days ago in the bedroom of the woman's home. She reported the alleged crime to police on Monday. The delay in reporting was attributable to the fact that the woman was scared and that she had only a limited command of English; an interpreter was required. Other personal information about the woman has not been released, but apparently the two individuals were acquaintances. Authorities have confirmed that Jimenez is a known and active gang member, but did not specify the gang.

Jimenez' residency status has not been formally disclosed by authorities. However, a person posting a comment to the story under the name Dixie Downer claims that Jimenez is an American citizen born in California.

The Spectrum also failed to disclose much of the information I've provided in this post. This includes the fact that Jimenez made bail (disclosed by the Deseret News and by this post in the Spectrum Forum). The fact that he's made bail means he's in a position to exact revenge upon his victim if he wants to. This information was disclosed by another individual who posted the following comment under the name Steadykat to the story:

Word on the street is that a lot of rapes have been occurring in the Dixie Downs area over the last few months. Both the legal and illegal criminals around here know that most illegal aliens aren't quick to report the crime. An example of that may be how long the timeline was between this particular crime and the report date.

My guess is that because of the lenght of time to report the crime and this,"two counts of threatening a witness" + his homie's threats to the victim and her loved ones as I write this, is that this case isn't going anywhere.

Nice to know that the "suspect", Mr. Juan Carlos Jimenez, is back on the street living here in Town around our children and our wives and our mothers isn't it?

Making it difficult to assess Hispanic crime in Utah is the fact that the state does not report Hispanic crime separately. Thus, most Hispanic offenders are reported as Whites. This prevents the public from learning the true nature of Hispanic crime, and may artificially distort reports on White crime.

And, according to Jared Taylor's research report, "Hispanics: A Statistical Portrait", that distortion is likely to be upward.

This is truly a sick crime. There is no way lust was involved in this; no one could possibly lust after an 86-year old woman. It is an insult that he was allowed to make bail. If found guilty, Jimenez should be castrated so he doesn't have the physical capacity to repeat this crime.
